At the Ignite 2025 conference, Microsoft unveiled that Azure Copilot would now be equipped with agent capabilities, with the feature currently in private preview. This upgrade signifies Azure Copilot's transformation from a mere conversational AI helper to a highly intelligent platform, now able to autonomously handle end-to-end cloud management operations.

The heart of this enhancement lies in six specialized agents, each tailored for distinct scenarios and seamlessly integrable into interfaces like the Azure portal. Moreover, Azure Copilot has rolled out two significant features: the 'Operations Hub' and 'Agent Mode'. The 'Operations Hub' offers a centralized dashboard for simplified management, whereas 'Agent Mode' facilitates multi-step reasoning and includes a 'human-in-the-loop' safeguard to ensure safety.

When it comes to governance and security, Azure Copilot strictly conforms to existing access control and compliance standards. Additionally, it introduces a 'Bring Your Own Storage' feature, granting users greater control over their data. Global administrators have the option to participate in the private preview via the management center.
