On Tuesday, Cloudflare Inc., a prominent cybersecurity company, restored its global network services after several hours of disruption. The outage led to the temporary unavailability of numerous websites, including key U.S. energy regulatory bodies, ChatGPT, the New Jersey Transportation Authority, and the social media platform X. By 10 a.m. New York time, services such as ChatGPT and X had resumed their normal operations. Cloudflare spokesperson Jackie Dutton clarified in a statement that the issue stemmed from an automatically generated configuration file designed to manage threatening traffic. She further emphasized that there is currently no indication of a cyberattack or any malicious intent behind the incident.
