The General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has launched a dedicated initiative focused on "millisecond computing access" in metropolitan regions. This initiative is geared towards refining computing power access networks at pivotal sites, fostering the installation of optical network infrastructure closer to end-users, including comprehensive access points and industrial zones. The goal is to expedite the widespread adoption of full-optical networks and cultivate metropolitan-level computing access capabilities characterized by millisecond-level low latency.

Furthermore, the initiative will drive the validation of cutting-edge technologies, such as fine-granularity Optical Transport Network (OTN) and deterministic networks, and steer telecommunications companies towards enhancing the user experience of dedicated computing access lines. An evaluation system for millisecond-level access to computing resources will also be put in place, along with a monitoring framework to guarantee that, by 2027, a minimum of 70% of metropolitan computing power will be accessible within 1-millisecond latency circles, ultimately laying down a robust and high-quality computing access foundation.
