The General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has rolled out a dedicated program dubbed "Millisecond Computing in Metropolitan Areas." This initiative is designed to enhance the interconnection network framework among computing centers. The overarching goal is to attain a one-way optical-layer interconnection latency of under 1 millisecond between medium and large computing centers situated within metropolitan areas by the year 2027. Simultaneously, the initiative will expedite the rollout of high-performance networks, ensuring that by 2027, the deployment rate of 400Gbps at the exits of medium and large computing centers in metropolitan regions, along with the all-optical cross-connection deployment rate at pivotal metropolitan locations, will each reach or exceed 50%. Furthermore, the program will focus on validating innovative network technologies, fostering the adoption of pertinent solutions and protocols, and speeding up the verification process for technological research and development, ultimately boosting the operational efficiency of integrated computing and networking systems.
