Recently, eight departments, among which is the Ministry of Commerce, jointly published the Guidelines for Robustly Promoting Digital Consumption and Fostering a Better Digital-Era Life. These Guidelines are a comprehensive effort to fully carry out the decisions and strategic arrangements made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council. They aim to capitalize on the vast market advantages that China possesses and foster a dynamic equilibrium between supply and demand in the realm of digital consumption.

With a dual focus on both the supply and demand fronts, the document delineates 14 specific tasks that span four key domains: enhancing the supply of digital consumption options, nurturing and expanding business entities, optimizing the support infrastructure, and cultivating a conducive environment. The overarching goal is to propel the high-quality development of digital consumption and invigorate socio-economic dynamism.
