The General Office of the Hubei Provincial People's Government has unveiled a set of policies titled Several Measures to Expedite the Coordinated Advancement of Computing, Networking, Storage, and Application in Hubei Province. This strategic blueprint outlines the scientific organization of three pivotal computing power hubs—centered around Wuhan, Yichang, Xiangyang, and Shiyan—and the establishment of a premier central computing power cluster. The initiative promotes the development of unique computing strengths in Wuhan, Yichang, Xiangyang, Shiyan, and other regions, with certain cities and prefectures expanding the application of computing technologies and exploring the seamless integration of space-air-ground information systems with computing infrastructure. By 2027, the province envisions the creation of a multi-layered computing infrastructure framework, with a cumulative computing capacity soaring to 25 EFLOPS. Intelligent and supercomputing facilities are projected to constitute no less than 90% of the newly constructed computing infrastructure. Furthermore, a platform for computing power interconnection and interoperability will be established, aligning closely with the national "Compute East, Store West" strategy and the national integrated computing network, thus fostering synchronized growth in computing, networking, storage, and application sectors.
