At the VLSI Symposium in Japan, Intel offered a comprehensive glimpse into its forthcoming Intel 18A process. This advanced process node is poised to succeed Intel 3, promising refined clock and voltage tuning capabilities. Intel 18A integrates RibbonFET gate-all-around transistors with PowerVia back-side power delivery technology, with mass production slated for the latter half of 2025. It is anticipated that this innovative process will be employed in Panther Lake client processors and Clearwater Forest Xeon processors, heralding substantial performance enhancements and energy efficiency improvements.
