South Korea's SK Telecom has announced a new initiative to bolster user information protection by providing a free SIM card replacement service, effective April 28. In response to recent cybersecurity incidents, SK Telecom CEO Yoo Young-sang extended an apology to users and pledged to enhance real-time monitoring and fraud detection systems. Furthermore, the company aims to upgrade its services by May, ensuring that users can benefit from SIM card protection features even while roaming. To facilitate this, SK Telecom has initially prepared 1 million SIM cards for replacement and plans to increase this number to 6 million by May.
