Multiple independent sources have revealed that Tencent acquired approximately RMB 2 billion worth of GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) computing power resources from ByteDance during the first quarter of this year. These resources primarily consisted of NVIDIA H20 cards and servers. Tencent's recent upgrades to its Yuanbao product significantly depend on these GPU cards sourced from ByteDance. Furthermore, insiders report that Alibaba placed GPU orders with ByteDance following the surge in popularity of DeepSeek in the first quarter of 2023. According to multiple sources close to ByteDance, the company amassed a stockpile of approximately 100,000 GPU modules last year, with server manufacturers estimating the total value of these resources to be roughly RMB 100 billion. However, ByteDance officials have denied the veracity of these claims.
