The founder of AMEC, Yin Zhiyao, has regained his Chinese citizenship, a significant development that has garnered considerable industry attention. Yin Zhiyao, who previously worked for prominent American semiconductor firms, returned to China in 2004 to establish AMEC. This nationality shift could be tied to the US's tightening export controls on semiconductors to China. Despite several rounds of personnel adjustments within AMEC in recent years, the company's performance has consistently risen, with revenues reaching 9.065 billion yuan in 2024, with etching equipment accounting for over 80% of this figure. Yin Zhiyao emphasized that they will expedite the advancement of electron beam inspection equipment to propel China's semiconductor equipment industry towards global leadership. Additionally, AMEC's holding subsidiary intends to increase its capital and expand its shareholding, with Yin Zhiyao himself pledging further investments.
