The AI inference chip company Groq has secured a $1.5 billion investment from Saudi Arabia. This substantial funding will be dedicated to expanding the AI inference infrastructure in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Currently, Groq has forged a partnership with a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco to establish a state-of-the-art data center in Dammam, equipped with 19,000 Groq LPUs. This facility serves 4 billion users across 41 countries globally. During the Saudi LEAP 2025 technology event, the two parties showcased LLM inference, bilingual Allam models, and text-to-speech models, all powered by the Dammam data center. Furthermore, Groq offers GroqCloud, the world's preeminent AI inference cloud service.
