Tesla's Shanghai Megapack factory has officially commenced production today, heralding the rollout of the first ultra-large commercial electrochemical energy storage system, the Megapack. According to the Vice President of Tesla's Energy Business, this milestone signifies a fresh chapter in Tesla's operations in China, with ambitions to gradually scale up production capacity within this quarter. Spanning an expansive area of approximately 200,000 square meters, the factory is projected to achieve an annual production capacity of 10,000 Megapacks, equating to nearly 40 GWh of energy storage potential.
