The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has, for the first time, granted approval to basic telecommunications enterprises to employ 26GHz band 5G millimeter-wave test frequencies during the 9th Asian Winter Games. This authorization is intended for technical validation purposes, encompassing advanced applications such as 8K broadcasting, integrated communication and sensing, as well as harmonious networking across high, medium, and low frequency bands. The objective behind this move is to foster technological advancements and cater to the communication requirements of the Asian Winter Games. Notably, the 26GHz band 5G millimeter-wave offers significant advantages over mid and low frequency bands, including broader bandwidth, faster transmission speeds, and reduced latency.
