In an effort to streamline operations and concentrate on the production of 200-millimeter silicon carbide wafers, the US-based chipmaker Wolfspeed has decided to put its Texas plant up for sale. This strategic shift will unfortunately lead to the layoff of 75 employees. Additionally, Wolfspeed has suspended its plant construction plans in Germany. Despite securing a significant funding of $750 million, the company has opted to realign its resources, focusing instead on the construction of new facilities in North Carolina and New York.
