Samsung Electronics has made history by becoming the inaugural technology company globally to post a quarterly operating profit exceeding KRW 100 trillion. This achievement is coupled with the company setting new benchmarks in both revenue and operating profit for four successive quarters. Looking ahead, its capital expenditure is projected to reach KRW 52.7 trillion in 2025, with a significant leap anticipated to approximately KRW 84.4 trillion in 2026. The lion's share of this investment, KRW 76.8 trillion, is earmarked for the chip division, while the display business is set to contribute KRW 3.9 trillion. Amidst these developments, Samsung Electronics foresees a further exacerbation of the chip supply shortage in the coming year.
