SK Hynix has revealed that it projects total shareholder returns to soar to around KRW 100 trillion by FY2026. This includes a minimum of KRW 30 trillion in cash dividends and at least KRW 60 trillion earmarked for the repurchase and subsequent cancellation of its own shares. On the same day, the company made the decision to repurchase shares worth KRW 20 trillion, with roughly KRW 10 trillion earmarked for shareholder returns. These repurchased shares will be canceled, and the remaining approximately KRW 10 trillion will be utilized for employee compensation. The company intends to allocate the bulk of its investment gains from Japan's Kioxia towards special dividends. Specifically, there will be a third-quarter dividend per share of KRW 20,000, which breaks down into KRW 10,000 in regular dividends and KRW 10,000 in special dividends. It's important to note that the aforementioned scale of shareholder returns is an expected figure, and the actual amount may be subject to adjustments based on changes in the operating environment and the company's performance.
