On October 27, Japan Exchange Group (JPX) made an announcement stating that its subsidiary, Osaka Exchange, is poised to list Nikkei Semiconductor Stock Index Futures. Following the outcomes of a public consultation, trading of this futures product may kick off as soon as April 26, 2027. The Nikkei Semiconductor Stock Index comprises stocks from leading semiconductor companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. At present, the assets under management for financial products, such as ETFs that track this index, stand at roughly 200 billion yen.
