The Bank of Korea's report released on Thursday pointed out that the global demand for AI infrastructure has driven explosive growth in South Korea's semiconductor exports, and it is expected that this trend will significantly boost private consumption starting from next year. The report listed four factors that will facilitate the translation of the semiconductor industry's prosperity into stronger private consumption: performance bonuses from large enterprises, shareholder dividend payments, the government's expansion of transfer payments to households, and the increase in households' real purchasing power due to the strengthening of the Korean won. The report anticipates that as the positive effects of the semiconductor industry's prosperity continue to spread throughout the economy, the recovery in private consumption will gradually expand.
