Recently, semiconductor specialist @bubbleboi harnessed the capabilities of Meta's Muse AI agent to successfully engineer a dedicated encryption SoC chip rooted in the RISC-V architecture. Remarkably, the design process incurred a computational cost of merely around $2,000 (roughly equivalent to 14,200 RMB). Traditional chip design endeavors typically demand costly professional tools and span several months. In stark contrast, this AI accomplished the entire suite of tasks, ranging from logic gate placement to routing, in a mere few days, utilizing approximately 100 million Tokens. The chip comprises approximately 61,590 logic cells, operates at a frequency of 100MHz, consumes a mere 20mW of power, and boasts a slack time margin of 4.5 nanoseconds.
