The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly released the "15th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Electronic Information Manufacturing Industry." The plan clearly states that it will advance technological breakthroughs across the entire integrated circuit (IC) supply chain, with a focus on developing high-end products such as high-performance processors, high-density memory, and high-reliability analog and mixed-signal chips. Meanwhile, it aims to enhance the manufacturing process capabilities of integrated circuits, optimize mature processes, achieve breakthroughs in advanced process technologies, and promote the development and application of advanced packaging and testing technologies. Additionally, the plan proposes to facilitate the industrial upgrading of wide-bandgap semiconductor industry and accelerate the industrialization of ultra-wide-bandgap semiconductors such as gallium oxide and diamond. The plan also emphasizes strengthening the supply capabilities of key equipment, materials, and components, accelerating the development of electronic design automation (EDA) tools and intellectual property (IP) cores, and promoting breakthroughs and applications in cutting-edge technologies such as three-dimensional integration.
