This week (August 29-September 4) has seen a series of highlights in semiconductor and technology industry data: SEMI predicts that global front-end fab equipment investment will reach USD 220 billion by 2028, driven primarily by strong demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure and the transition to advanced manufacturing processes. According to the latest data from market research firm Counterpoint Research, in the second quarter of 2026, TSMC led the global pure-play foundry market for two consecutive quarters with a 73% market share, far surpassing second-place Samsung's 7%. Additionally, TrendForce expects the decline in global notebook shipments to narrow to 9.4% in 2026, thanks to factors such as improved CPU supply and early upgrades by end consumers.
