During the FY2026 Q3 earnings call, Broadcom President Hock Tan predicted that Anthropic and OpenAI would surpass Google to become the top two customers for its AI ASIC business. Specifically, Anthropic is expected to become Broadcom's largest XPU customer between 2027 and 2028, with OpenAI likely to rank second. During the quarter, Broadcom delivered TPU v7 to Anthropic and Google, TPU v8i to Google, and began delivering the custom chip 'Jalapeño' to OpenAI. Broadcom's AI semiconductor business reached $16.7 billion in the quarter, up 221% year-over-year and 54% quarter-over-quarter. Looking ahead to FY2026 Q4, Broadcom plans to accelerate TPU v7 deliveries to Anthropic, ramp up production of Google's TPU v8i, and begin delivering MTIA series accelerators to Meta. AI revenue for the quarter is expected to reach $21.7 billion, up 236% year-over-year. For the entire FY2026 fiscal year, Broadcom's AI revenue is projected to reach $58 billion, up 186% year-over-year. In terms of deployment plans, Broadcom and Anthropic plan to deploy 1GW of TPU v7 in 2026, 5GW of TPU v8i in 2027, and add 10GW in 2028. OpenAI plans to deploy 1.3GW of 'Jalapeño' chips in 2027 and over 5GW of 'Jalapeño' and its successors in 2028, while advancing the development of its third-generation XPU. Additionally, Broadcom will deliver three generations of MTIA accelerators to Meta by the end of 2027, with a total scale of 3GW by the end of 2028. Broadcom expects AI semiconductor revenue to reach approximately $115 billion in 2027 and $230 billion in 2028, achieving sustained doubling growth, and has secured stable upstream supply.
