On August 13 (local time), AMD submitted a filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), revealing its plan to complete a senior unsecured bond offering totaling up to $5 billion. The specific scale of the offering will be fine-tuned in response to market demand. The bonds will be issued in four separate tranches, with maturities spanning from 3 to 10 years. Notably, the initial price guidance for the 10-year bonds is set at 115 basis points above the yield of comparable U.S. Treasury bonds.

The proceeds from this bond issuance will be allocated for general corporate purposes, which may encompass the repayment of $875 million in bonds that are set to mature next month. Leading financial institutions, including Barclays, BofA Securities, Citigroup Global Markets, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, and Wells Fargo Securities, have been entrusted with the responsibility of underwriting and distributing these bonds.

This bond issuance not only sets a new benchmark for AMD's dollar-denominated debt financing but also positions the company as part of the global trend of AI-driven bond issuances by tech firms in 2026.
