Recently, there have been market rumors that chip foundry giant TSMC is holding approximately $1 billion worth of Apple's 2-nanometer semiconductor wafers due to a shortage of memory supply. It is reported that Apple's system on a chip (SoC) requires memory to be packaged together with the processor. Due to a lack of sufficient dynamic random-access memory (DRAM), these semi-finished chips cannot undergo final packaging, leading to an increase in TSMC's inventory.
