On August 10, the South Korean Presidential Office announced that Kang Hoon-sik, Chief of the Presidential Secretariat, revealed the government's plan to expedite the enactment of the 'Special Law for Super Special Economic Zones' within the current year. This legislative move aims to bolster what are termed the 'three major super projects'—semiconductors, AI, and data centers. The law is designed to streamline the permit approval process and environmental assessments, while also rapidly enhancing critical infrastructure, including electricity, water supply, and transportation networks. Additionally, it will focus on improving living conditions, such as housing and educational facilities, to support these key sectors.
