According to the Global Memory Tracker report for the second quarter of 2026, released by market research firm Counterpoint, DRAM memory prices have continued their upward trajectory. Samsung has reclaimed the top position in the global DRAM market, boasting a 39% market share and surpassing both SK Hynix and Micron. Samsung's success can be attributed to the resurgence in demand and price hikes for traditional DRAM, along with the expansion of its High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) business. Despite SK Hynix experiencing a 214% year-on-year revenue increase, its market share dipped from 39% to 26%, primarily due to the decline in average HBM prices and price constraints from early long-term supply agreements. Micron closely trailed SK Hynix with a 25% market share, maintaining robust growth momentum since the advent of the AI boom in the latter half of 2023. Furthermore, ChangXin Memory Technologies emerged as the fastest-growing DRAM manufacturer globally, with a remarkable 716% year-on-year revenue surge.
