Citing sources like Cailian Press, SpaceX has set its sights on building a natural gas-fueled power plant in Grimes County, Texas. This facility is earmarked to supply energy to the Terafab semiconductor factory, a collaborative venture with Tesla. To guarantee a consistent and reliable power source, the plant will incorporate a substantial battery storage system. During a public gathering, Riley Tetreault, the leader of energy and data center development at SpaceX, revealed that the company will embrace a 'self-sufficient power' approach, opting not to tap into the local primary power grid. The initial phase of this ambitious project is projected to require an investment of $16.8 billion. The plan includes the construction of manufacturing space exceeding 100 million square feet, dedicated to the production, packaging, and testing of cutting-edge logic chips and memory chips. This development is expected to generate a minimum of 3,000 employment opportunities.
