On August 6 local time, officials of the Trump administration considered postponing the implementation of planned tariffs on solar panels and other products containing polysilicon by several months. Trump may order the implementation of the relevant tariffs as soon as August 6, but officials are considering setting a transition period of 90 to 120 days. This arrangement may prompt companies involved in U.S. renewable energy projects to accelerate imports. Additionally, the U.S. has signed an executive order to adopt minimum import prices and additional tariff measures for imported polysilicon and its derivative products starting from December 4, 2026.
