A research team, headed by Professor Yang Yuchao from Peking University’s School of Integrated Circuits and in partnership with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has successfully developed the world’s inaugural millisecond-level neurodynamics system chip. This cutting-edge chip is built upon phase-change memristors, marking a significant advancement in the field. Notably, the chip’s single-step operation time has been drastically reduced to a mere 2.12 milliseconds, enabling it to perform high-speed, high-precision computations akin to those of the human brain. This groundbreaking achievement opens up fresh technological avenues in areas such as brain-computer interfaces, the early detection of brain diseases, and personalized medical diagnosis and treatment.
