According to reports from media outlets like Reuters, Apple is ramping up efforts to broaden the application of its self-developed C-series modem chips. Consequently, its dependence on Qualcomm components is diminishing at a faster rate than anticipated. Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon disclosed that, due to factors including supply chain strains, Qualcomm's business revenue derived from Apple is projected to experience an accelerated decline starting in the fourth quarter of 2026. Earlier, Qualcomm had forecasted that its component supply share for the iPhone 18 series would hover around 20%, yet the actual proportion is set to fall well short of this estimate. Presently, Apple's self-developed C-series modem chips are already being utilized in the iPhone Air, iPhone 16e, iPhone 17e, as well as in certain iPad Air and iPad Pro models.
