Recently, NVIDIA has informed its board partners (AIBs) that it will be raising the prices of its GPU suites. This price increase will not be limited to the GeForce RTX 5090 series but will extend to a wider array of GeForce graphics card product lines. The root cause of this price adjustment lies in the escalating costs of graphics memory (VRAM), with both GDDR7 and GDDR6 seeing price hikes for manufacturers. Given that NVIDIA's GPU suites encompass both GPU chips and memory, and considering that VRAM is one of the most expensive components in graphics cards, this price rise in VRAM will have a substantial impact on the final cost of the graphics cards. Besides memory, the costs of other components such as PCBs, power components, and cooling systems are also on the rise, which, when taken together, significantly add to the overall production costs. At present, NVIDIA has not released an official statement regarding the retail prices. However, this notification clearly indicates that significant price cuts for GeForce RTX graphics cards are not anticipated in the near future.
