Recent reports indicate that NVIDIA has instructed its board partners to halt the planned release of the GeForce RTX 50 SUPER series graphics cards. While the cards have already been shipped to partners and the hardware is fully prepared for market, the exorbitant cost of 3GB GDDR7 memory chips has thrown a wrench in the works. With each chip priced between $60 and $70—a substantial hike from the previous $20 per 2GB chip—the overall production costs for these graphics cards have surged dramatically. Consequently, NVIDIA has made the decision to postpone the launch, and as of now, no revised timeline for release has been announced.
