According to reports from foreign media, which cited sources within the supply chain, Intel has made notable revisions to its production strategy for the upcoming 'Nova Lake-S' processor. Initially, the plan was to outsource approximately 60% to 70% of the processor's production to TSMC's 2nm manufacturing process. However, Intel has now decided to shift towards in-house production for the majority of the chips, with the outsourcing ratio being slashed to less than 20%. This move effectively reduces TSMC's order volume by more than 60%. The catalyst for this strategic adjustment is a substantial enhancement in Intel's 18A process yield, which has now achieved a level of reliability suitable for large-scale manufacturing.
