As the global memory shortage crisis escalates, American consumers and small businesses have turned to legal recourse. On June 25, in a federal court located in California, U.S., the world's top three memory suppliers—Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron—were slapped with a class-action lawsuit. The lawsuit accuses them of colluding to manipulate prices and restrict the global supply of DRAM. The complaint details how these three companies, which hold a near-monopoly on the global DRAM market, deliberately curtailed the supply of traditional DRAM products even as prices skyrocketed, thereby exacerbating the already severe memory shortage.
