According to a report by the UK's Financial Times on the 27th, six sources with insider knowledge disclosed that Apple is actively lobbying the U.S. government to gain approval for purchasing memory chips from ChangXin Memory Technologies, a Chinese semiconductor firm. This move aims to mitigate the cost pressures stemming from escalating memory chip prices. On this past Thursday, Apple announced price hikes for its MacBook and iPad products, which led to a staggering single-day market value decline of $263 billion. If ChangXin Memory Technologies is successfully incorporated into Apple's supply chain, it could potentially alleviate the company's current predicament of being squeezed by upstream suppliers. At present, the DRAM memory utilized in Apple devices predominantly relies on supplies from Micron Technology, Samsung, and SK Hynix.
