On June 23, news emerged that Awinic Electronics’ Lingang Automotive-Grade Testing Center has officially commenced operations. With an investment surpassing RMB 940 million and a sprawling floor area exceeding 110,000 square meters, this state-of-the-art facility is designed to handle an impressive annual chip testing capacity of 30 to 50 billion units. This achievement positions it as the largest automotive-grade chip testing center in China.

Awinic Electronics has announced that once the center reaches its full production capacity, it will be well-equipped to address the testing needs of the vast majority of domestic new energy vehicle manufacturers, intelligent cockpit solution providers, and AI chip companies. By offering a localized, one-stop verification service, the center is set to significantly expedite the certification process for automotive-grade chips. Moreover, it will reduce the overall costs associated with comprehensive testing for individual chip models.

This development is expected to yield substantial benefits for chip design companies, as it will minimize their investments in R&D verification. Consequently, it will facilitate the faster iteration and deployment of domestically produced automotive chips, further strengthening China’s position in the global automotive chip market.
