On June 22, reports surfaced indicating that on June 18, 2026, Sila Nanotechnologies, Inc., along with the Georgia Tech Research Corporation, both hailing from the United States, filed a petition with the United States International Trade Commission (USITC) pursuant to Section 337 of the US Tariff Act of 1930. They alleged that certain battery cells and associated anode materials, which are exported to, imported into, and subsequently sold within the United States, infringe upon Section 337 provisions of US law. The entities named as respondents in this case encompass China Zhejiang's Tanyi New Energy Group Co., Ltd., Tanyi New Energy (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., and Zhejiang Lichen New Material Technology Co., Ltd.
