AMD recently announced that it will re-enable the Transparent Secure Memory Encryption (TSME) feature for consumer-grade Ryzen 9000 non-PRO series processors via a BIOS update in July 2026. Previously, AMD removed this feature through the AGESA 1.2.7.0 firmware without prior notice, triggering strong user dissatisfaction. TSME is designed to prevent physical memory data theft, such as cold boot attacks, and had previously been extended to consumer-grade processors. AMD stated that it values user data security, will permanently retain TSME for Ryzen PRO series, and restore it for non-PRO series through this update.
