The Raspberry Pi engineering team has released the first new version of Raspberry Pi OS since April, completing the upgrade to the Linux 6.18 LTS kernel. Previously, Raspberry Pi OS used Linux 6.12 LTS, and the current version number is now 'Raspberry Pi OS 2026-06-18', having switched to Linux 6.18.34 LTS. This kernel series, which debuted in 2025, is the latest long-term support branch.
