Instead, its primary business endeavors are centered around optical fiber and cable, communication cables, power cables, and energy storage security. For fiber production, Tongding Interconnection procures optical preforms from Corning; however, Corning's role is strictly that of a raw material supplier. The scale of procurement is limited, and there are no exclusive supply agreements or other forms of cooperation between the two entities. Looking ahead, the company plans to diminish its reliance on external procurement by manufacturing optical preforms in-house.
