The South Korean government has announced the relaxation of regulations on the export of national core technologies, covering government-funded R&D projects, including the transfer of technology to subsidiaries, modification of export content, and the conduct of joint research. The approval process has been simplified from a two-stage to a single-stage process, and reviews by higher-level committees have been eliminated. The policy covers technology sectors such as semiconductors, displays, and shipbuilding. Meanwhile, the government will strengthen the review capabilities of the Technology Security Center. This revision, based on a low-risk assessment, will take effect at the end of this month.
