Having secured an accord with the labor union regarding performance bonuses, Samsung Electronics is now ramping up efforts to construct automation and data platforms. The company's ambitious goal is to establish a fully 'unmanned' semiconductor factory by the year 2030, thereby lessening its dependence on both the labor union and frontline engineers. By leveraging the Data Sharing Ecosystem Platform (DSEP), Samsung facilitates real-time sharing of semiconductor process data with its suppliers. Furthermore, it employs AI models to bolster its capabilities in equipment inspection, fault prediction, and defect analysis, thus laying a solid foundation for the realization of an unmanned wafer factory.
