Three Major A-share Indices Rise in Unison, Semiconductor Sector Spearheads Gains

On June 17, 2026, China's A-share market witnessed a broad-based rally, with all three major indices closing higher. The Shanghai Composite Index climbed 0.4%, while the Shenzhen Component Index surged 1.31%, and the ChiNext Index, known for its focus on innovative and growth-oriented enterprises, soared 1.56%.

Leading the charge were the semiconductor, computer hardware, and building materials sectors. Notably, China Jushi soared to its daily limit, demonstrating robust market confidence. Huafeng Measurement & Control Technology witnessed a remarkable surge of over 14%, and Xiechuang Data Technology also posted significant gains, rising more than 12%.

On the flip side, the catering & tourism, coal, and automobile sectors faced selling pressure. Yunmei Energy saw its shares tumble over 6%, while BAIC BluePark and Zhangjiajie both fell more than 4%, reflecting sector-specific challenges or profit-taking activities.
