At the VLSI Symposium, which took place in Hawaii, Intel made an official announcement regarding the launch of its latest Intel 18A-P foundry process node. This new node represents a substantial upgrade and refinement over the existing Intel 18A. Based on official figures, when operating under identical power consumption conditions, the 18A-P achieves an approximate 9% boost in performance. Conversely, when delivering the same level of performance, it reduces power consumption by around 18%. Moreover, there has been a notable 20% to 40% enhancement in chip-level thermal conductivity, accompanied by a 10% to 30% reduction in via resistance at critical levels.
