Cho Ji-tae, head of LG Innotek's Packaging Solutions Business Division, stated on the 16th that the company will invest 1 trillion won to build a semiconductor substrate factory in Vietnam, marking the first phase of investment to expand its packaging substrate business. The company is currently in discussions with clients regarding a second phase of investment to increase FCBGA capacity for AI servers, with substantial progress made in the discussions, and the scale will be announced soon. Additionally, LG Innotek plans to further expand production at its factory in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. In addition to the previously announced 600 billion won investment, the company will continue to expand FCBGA production scale based on the agreed-upon output volume with clients.
