This year, electronic fabrics have seen their prices surge through five distinct rounds of increases. The pricing for the upcoming month is set at the close of each preceding month, with each hike hovering around the 10% mark. This upward trajectory in prices kicked off in August and September of the previous year and has become especially pronounced in the current year. The driving forces behind these price escalations are twofold: a spike in downstream demand and a strategic pivot from conventional electronic fabric production lines to those tailored for AI-specific electronic fabrics. This shift has led to a contraction in the output of standard electronic fabrics. While regular electronic fabrics are earmarked for general PCB boards, their AI-specialized counterparts are designated for specialized PCB boards. Despite the challenges associated with transitioning production lines, it represents a prevailing trend within the sector, exacerbating the supply-demand imbalance and consequently propelling prices upward. Although the frequency of price adjustments varies among companies due to differing customer concentration levels, on the whole, they are in sync with the broader industry movement.
