On May 14, the latest memory survey from TrendForce revealed that Mobile DRAM contract prices are set to continue rising sharply in the second quarter of 2026, increasing cost pressure on smartphone brands. The two major Korean manufacturers have adopted different pricing strategies: Samsung leans towards a one-step approach with significant price hikes, while SK Hynix has implemented moderate temporary quotation (quote) increases and plans to gradually raise prices, with final pricing expected in late May. TrendForce forecasts that the average selling price of LPDDR4X will increase by at least 70%–75% quarter-over-quarter in the second quarter, while LPDDR5X will see a 78%–83% quarterly increase.
