On May 13, the performance of the three major U.S. stock indices was a mixed bag at the closing bell. The Nasdaq Composite Index eked out a modest gain, inching up by 0.21% to settle at 26,147.65 points. In contrast, the Dow Jones Industrial Average experienced a slight downturn, dropping by 0.36% to close at 49,674.58 points. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 Index remained relatively stable, registering a negligible increase of 0.01% to finish at 7,409.12 points.
Within the technology sector, notable movements were observed. Micron Technology and Qualcomm both witnessed upward trajectories in their stock prices. On the other hand, Alibaba, following the release of its earnings report, saw its shares decline by 2.6%. Conversely, Tencent's stock price climbed by 2.3%.
