According to Reuters, the wage negotiations between Samsung Electronics and its labor union in South Korea fell through on Wednesday. Union officials announced that more than 50,000 workers are set to commence a full-scale strike as scheduled on May 21, which could potentially disrupt the production of AI chips and other semiconductor products. This industrial action might lead to losses amounting to around KRW 40 trillion (approximately RMB 181.8 billion) and could have significant repercussions for the global chip supply chain.
