Micron Technology recently announced that it has started providing samples of its latest 256GB DDR5 Registered Dual Inline Memory Module (RDIMM) to key server ecosystem partners. Manufactured using the 1-gamma DRAM process, this memory module achieves a transfer rate of up to 9200MT/s, which is over 40% faster than currently mass-produced modules. With the growing demand for generative AI, memory manufacturers are accelerating the launch of products with higher speeds and larger capacities to meet the expanding infrastructure needs of AI enterprises.
